Monongalia Home Corporation d/b/a Sundale Nursing Home is Monongalia County's only not-for-profit long term care facility and is designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions to Sundale may be claimed on federal income taxes as a deduction from income when determining an individual's Adjusted Gross Income. Contributions to Sundale now have even more clout!
2008 was the first year Sundale participated with the West Virginia Office of Development's Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP). This program helps charitable organizations increase charitable giving by awarding tax credits to contributors donating a minimum of $500. Sundale now has the ability to grant up to 50% of the individuals gift back to the giver in the form of straight tax credits... This is not a deduction from income as allowed by the IRS, but straight tax credits that offset the invidual's tax liability.
